Lubbock Comic Book Expo 5

When: April 14-15, 2012.
Saturday 10am-6pm
Sunday 12 - 4pm
Where: during the annual Lubbock Arts Festival. It is $3 for adults to get into the arts festival and the Comic book Expo is FREE! The event will be held at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, at 1501 Mac Davis Lane, (in the upper mezzanine level!)

Guest – Ben Dunn!

The Lubbock Comic book Expo is excited to host Comic legend Ben Dunn for our 2011 show!


Ben Dunn was the founder of Antarctic Press, beginning with MANGAZINE. A manga inspired comic book where he introduced TIGER-X, MIGHTY TINY, THEMAGICIAN and MESSERSCHMITT. In 1986 he debuted NINJA HIGH SCHOOL. Ninja High School just celebrated it 20th anniversary and Antarctic Press is currently celebrating its 25th year in publication.  Currently he is working on BOXCAR CHILDREN for Magic Wagon as well as a NINJA HIGH SCHOOL reboot. He also produces a line of HOW TO DRAW books the cult hit comic STEAMPUNK PALIN #1.

Chris Summers

Chris Summers is a freelance colorist and has been professionally working in Comics for the last 7 years. He was born in Abilene, TX and has lived the majority of his life there. He has colored various comic titles including GI Joe, Dungeons & Dragons, Superman, Nightwing, The Perhapanauts and Spartacus: Blood & Sand Comic Book and Motion Comic among others. He’s also one of the hosts of the Comic Book Confessions podcast, has been a Guest Lecturer at Hardin-Simmons University’s Art dept, worked as part of Hi-Fi Design, as well as doing design work for band merchandise, tattoos and video game concept work. He has been married to his lovely wife Stephane for the last 16 years and has a awesome 12 year old son whom he is very proud of.

CCP comics

Austin based CCP comics began as a group of artists and writers brought together under one goal – to create comics.  Since its beginnings in 2007, the group has grown to be a publishing powerhouse that offers new artists opportunities in the industry through experience and marketing.  the Lubbock Comic book Expo is happy to have CCP for the 2011 Expo!  And we hope that you will enjoying getting to know these talented creators.
